Data Deletion Policy
We believe you should have control over your data. This page explains how you can manage and delete your data from our platform.
Your Right to Deletion
As a user of The Feed, you have the right to delete your account and remove your personal data from our active systems at any time. The process is initiated by you from your account settings page.
How Deletion Works
When you choose to delete your account, our system performs the following actions:
- Anonymization of Personal Data: All personally identifiable information (PII) is scrubbed from your user profile. This includes your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and any other profile details you have provided. Your username and email are changed to anonymous identifiers (e.g., `deleted_user_123` and `deleted_123@deleted.invalid`).
- Removal of Associations: Your account is removed from all group memberships. Any notifications, votes, or pending join requests associated with your account are permanently deleted.
- Unlinking of Operator Profile: If you have claimed an Operator Profile (e.g., an RMP profile), this link is severed. The Operator Profile will revert to an "unclaimed" status, making it available for its rightful owner to claim in the future.
What Happens to Your Content?
To maintain the integrity and context of community discussions, content you have created (such as discussion topics, comments, and proposals) is not deleted. However, this content will be fully anonymized. Instead of showing your name, it will be attributed to "Deleted User," ensuring that your personal identity is completely dissociated from it.
